Graduate Assistantship Application

FALL 2024 Graduate Assistant – VISTA Center at Louisiana Tech University.
Louisiana Tech University's VISTA (Visual Integration of Science Through Art) Center invites dynamic and creative graduate student applications for the position of Graduate Assistant.This cutting-edge facility seamlessly blends art and science through diverse visual mediums, offering an unparalleled learning experience for students. Functioning as a collaborative hub, the VISTA Center actively engages in advancing the intersection of visual communication and scientific research, aiming to elevate the significance of science within the areas of art, design, and communication.

Position Title: Graduate Assistant
Department: VISTA Center 

Qualifications
  • Enrollment in a graduate program, with a preference for candidates pursuing an MFA or an MS on a thesis track.
  • Proficiency in 3D software such as Blender, Maya or other 3D equivalent software.
  • Motion design is a bonus.
  • Strong graphic design skills, including experience with Adobe CC and Photoshop or equivalent software.
  • Familiarity with large format printers and their operation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially in a collaborative working environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor student workers.
  • Passion for the intersection of art and science.
  • Ability to work 20 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Tuition: Full tuition support for the duration of the assistantship.
  • Out-of-State Tuition Waiver: Waiver of out-of-state tuition fees, ensuring an accessible educational experience.
  • Stipend and Scholarship: A total of $9,000.00 in scholarship and stipend will be provided and distributed evenly over three academic (fall, winter, spring) quarters.

Remaining Fees

Application Process
