Do you have a passion for science and art?
Consider a minor in Pre-Medical Illustration or Scientific Visualization!

Pre-Medical Illustration

Scientific Visualization

The minor in pre-medical illustration is designed for those students with a primary interest in biomedical sciences.  Students who pursue this minor must complete a specific set of biological sciences courses that will not only provide them with an adequate knowledge of biology, physiology, and anatomy, but will also prepare students for application to graduate programs in medical illustration.  The course requirements include 24 hours of art, 23 hours of specific biological sciences courses, and an internship with a client working in an area of medicine or biomedical research.  More information on the curriculum and medical illustration as a career can be found here.
The minor in scientific visualization is designed to offer students pursuing any area of science or engineering to have the opportunity to also learn a set of fundamental art skills and participate in a discipline-specific internship.  Students will be required to take 21 hours of art courses which include a client internship and portfolio development.  More information on the curriculum and opportunities in scientific visualization can be found here.
